We often have our partners share what the Lord is teaching them by writing a devotional. Check out this week’s devotional by Bethany Brown!

The Word:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

The Story:
There are times in life when we worry about circumstances and situations we may encounter. We are anxious about what the future may hold and lean to our own understanding for guidance. God desires that we let our requests be known to Him. The Lord’s peace will surround us and give understanding. God does not want us to experience worry or anxiety. Instead, He wants us to lean on Him for support and have faith, knowing He will be with us through whatever may occur.

The Reflection:
When have we ever worried and not leaned on God for guidance? What situations are we currently anxious about that we have not prayed to God for support? What will we do moving forward to completely rely on God and allow His peace to continuously be in our hearts?

The Application:
This week, as we journey through our lives and face anxiety-provoking situations, let’s make a choice to take our concerns to God. No matter the situation, He cares and wants to walk with us.

The Prayer:
God, help us to have faith in You, and peace about those things that are out of our control. We know that you are creator of all things and that You are all knowing. Amen.
