Why do we work?  By answering this question, we solve a number of on the job problems.

What did God have in mind when He put us to work? It’s simple! God has given us the divine assignment to make Him look good.  We are to:

  1. Make a difference by creating disciples and helping them to grow in Christ.
  2. Make God’s name great by glorifying God in everything that we do.

Our work is about more than a paycheck, promotion, or satisfying our boss. All that we do must be an expression of our love for God.  It must become our “calling”. By remaining focused on making our actions an expression of God’s love, we can shift our mindset and our behavior will follow.  We will be changed as far as how we treat our boss, co-worker, customers, people in general.

To regain satisfaction from our work ask and answer the question – “Why has God placed me here?”, dig deep for that answer and realize God places us where we can do the maximum good for Him.

Ready to dig deep?  Share your answers to the “why” question.  Ask yourself:

  • What does God want me to do?
  • What is God providentially doing in my life so I can see where He wants me to go?
